I want to be on the other side of this door. Here, I you can see that I was trying
to hide from having my picture taken by Scott. I thought he couldn't see me.

My favorite words!

My favorite words!
I enjoy sitting here under the kitchen table while Scott eats his food.
I plan to catch and eat any food that falls. I am trying to use my telekinesis
powers to make him drop the fork, or better ... the plate.

Dreams

I am going to let you in on a little inside information... when dogs sleep, just like people, we also have wild dreams.

Last night, I had a dream where I was a star at a world class canine fashion show in Europe.
I was strutting on the runway, being all "that."
So fashionable. So chic. So stylish. So fine. Very doggy dog.
I loved the music, the camera flashes and the crowd cheering and clapping for me.
They love me! Me Me Me.
Everyone is looking at ME, what could be better?

I was telling everyone that I was too sexy for this "catwalk", but no one heard me.
That seemed very strange...  then I realized, oh my.... Why are the people so small?  Who picked out this hideous carpet?
Why was I talking like Scooby Doo?
So many questions and thoughts were racing around in my head.
I woke up and realized that it was just a dream, actually a major nightmare.

That was a very complicated and revealing dream. I must have had too many chicken treats
before sleepy time.

There is no need for us to interpret this dream, I don't want you to feel insignificant.

My estate and letter boxes.

Here I am, enjoying the evening. I like to look out for anything that moves.
My estate looks beautiful, even at night. I notice and appreciate the fresh lush foliage
and blooming flowers the month of May provides.

The nighttime does a great job of hiding the flaws I see when the sun is out.
I need to remind Scott to do some work on the grounds.
I see weeds, uncut grass, and some trimming that must be attended to at once.
I want to notify him of these important tasks immediately - with a personal note from me,
special delivery. Unfortunately, I cannot find any complaint box in the house.

See, cats have "complaint boxes" in their homes.
Humans call them "litter" boxes.

Did you know that calling a "litter box" a "litter box" is an error?
People name that cat poop box- a "litter" box, which is completely wrong.

The fact is that it was originally known as a "letter" box,
a place where pets can leave daily complaint notes. A letter box.

The first (pet) letter box was used in the late 1700's by Sir Hugh Mann.
Hugh Mann had a big dinner parties for the whole neighborhood at his home. When the parties ended, everybody was telling him what to do for the next party. The next day, he couldn't remember anything the people said. Hugh thought of a great solution for that communication problem.
He simply placed a box on the floor, next to the front door, for his friends and family to anonymously leave notes to suggest food ideas, discussion topics or activities for the next gathering.
This was also a great way for people to complain about things too.
Hugh always enjoyed reading the messages people would write after the parties.

His dog, named Doo Doo, knew that he too was a friend and a valued member of the Mann family. One day, following a crazy party at his home, Doo Doo had sudden urge to express his feelings into the suggestion box. He wrote a complaint letter about being ignored at the party. Doo Doo must have felt that the party did not revolve around him, so Doo Doo left a note with a big capital letter " I " in the box.  Historians wonder if Doo Doo may have possibly have written an explanation point.  "!"
This was quite a surprise statement that Doo Doo left.  It was a simple message stating that all he wanted was more attention during the parties.  Needless to say, that letter was quickly noticed and boldly received. It certainly made a quite a stink in the famous Hugh Mann family mansion. Doo Doo suddenly received some attention he wanted and deserved. I say Doo Doo must have been very relieved after holding in all that frustration.  Doo Doo is my hero, for standing up and letting it all out! Dogs must never repress their feelings.

This event was the very birth of pets using a letter box.

I have one more clarification for you. Back then, 300 years ago, when a humans spoke,
they talked in the Old English Language style of speech. This made words sound higher class.
When they spoke the words:  "letter box", it was heard as "litter box".

I bet you didn't know all that. There is a new fact to remember- for a better understanding
of our world around you.  Dogs ARE smart. Yes we are. Let us teach you.

OK, so you see, cats use those small "letter boxes" inside their homes,
and dogs are allowed to use the whole yard outdoors for leaving complaint letters.

I see Scott does not pick up and read any of my important "messages" in the my yard.
When Scott cuts the grass, it frustrates me when I think about all my invitations, complaints and juicy gossip notes are unnoticed, passed over and stepped on -when he
mows the lawn. I know he thinks those packages are just a bunch of crap.

I bet he uses that lawn mower only to shred my documents.

I will continue to leave messages for Scott and really hope to see him have a hands-on experience with one someday. A stinky and sticky situation to behold.

My paws are tired right now - typing all this. Good Night.

Head rest.

We are resting our heads on what humans call an "arm rest".  This must be a mistake.
I call it a "dog head" rest.  Cecil and I are comfortable right now.  By the way, do you notice who has the better looking paw nails?  Me, of course. Cecil's active lifestyle is challenging for maintaining beautiful nails.

Cecil got a haircut.

This is my friend Cecil. He recently got a haircut. He looks very handsome today.
Since he looks appropriate, I shall allow him to be in a photo with me.
I, of course, look much more fabulous than most other canines. If an ugly or messy
dog is near me, I can feel it. They pull the beauty right out of me. I prefer to be seen with my
friends when they are well groomed and deemed clean by me.

I go where I want to go..

Scott needs to be reminded who is actually in control here.

Walking

So, here I am, walking along on a beautiful day. Wait, what is that smell ? !

Welcome to my blog! MY BLOG! woof

My Name is XENA. I am the original warrior princess. Yes. PRINCESS.
I am a Corgi-Husky Mix. I have a 45 second attention span.

In Scott's Car.

I think it is fun when I see Scott outside of the car. I like pretending that I am the Driver.
I would like to drive away and leave him here. I would find a Dog Park, with chicken treats everywhere, with lots of fire hydrants, trees, postal delivery people, rabbits, squirrels, and red laser dots to chase around. I also like seeing humans pick up the poop too, now that's service!

Taking Scott on his walk.

It is beautiful day for a walk. I decided to pull Scott out of the house and go for a walk.

Post Office

When I travel around the neighborhood, I always check in at my street's post office. I like reading the PEE mails my frineds leave for me.

Exercise.

It feels great to walk on the grass. It was a long winter. I need to lose some weight. Walking is great exercise. I weigh 43 Pounds. I want to be 42 by next winter.

Me

It is warm outside today. If feels good. I am hungry.

5/01/2013

I think this is photo taken from some helicopter. As you can see, my landscape is beautiful. My area here has water, a ball, food and a stool. Not the kind of stool you may be thinking. I am not that kind of dog. The stool is the blue thing. I sit on top of it. Scott calls it an Ottoman. The word "stool" makes me think of something else that is slightly embarrassing and inappropriate. Why am I stooping to that level of discussion?

I didn't do it!

I think Scott thinks I made that mess. It wasn't me. I behave.

Feet Hugs.

It feels great when Scott hugs me with his feet. He moves them up and down, and it feels
great. It is a good day.

Smiling and Satiated.

Scott cooked me some chicken today. I am very satiated. Satiated is a big word!
I like using big words. I am smart, you know. For those of you who don't know
what satiated means... it means that there are no other dogs around who I would have to share
my space and Scott with.

My friend Bart

Ok, so this is Bart. He is hesitant when Scott is taking a photo of him.
Why is he nervous?
I am in the background thinking about how many pictures I have been in.
This is nothing new to me, because I am beautiful. I like the flash.
Cameras like me.
